DotError's focus was making a light and fun game using minimal graphics and audio with the feel of old DOS. It was a simple side-scroller space shooter, but the direction was to feel like it was an old game lost in time. I felt that too many of today's "retro-styled" games weren't retro at all. At the same time I didn't want to simplify the game down so far that it was just a flat Pong clone. There was an interesting balancing act through the development cycle and a world of nostalgia.
